Razer Orbweaver Chroma

If you’re into gaming, you’ve probably come across some Razer Peripherals. Razer has been the pioneer of gaming peripherals as they have produced quite a lot of them over the recent decade.

In fact, they were the first ones to release dedicated gaming peripherals that are perfectly suited to each and every gamer’s needs. As their company slogan says, “For gamers, by gamers.”orbweaver

I’ve come across one of their chroma edition gaming peripherals that will surely give you an edge in whatever games you play. We are going to take a closer look at the Razer Orbweaver Chroma.

The Razer Orbweaver Chroma is sort of a gamepad with 20-programmable mechanical switches and an 8-way thumb pad. You can assign macros to it via the proprietary Razer Synapse software.

As previously mentioned, the Orbweaver Chroma is fitted with 20 mechanical switches that come in two variants: the clicky switches and the silent switches. The clicky switches make use of the Razer green mechanical switches, while the silent versions use the Razer Orange keys.

Razer boasts of a 60-million keystroke lifespan for the mechanical Razer switches. That is truly impressive, and I highly doubt that you can reach 60-million keystrokes in 5 years (well, at least not while you’re in rage mode).

The Razer Orbweaver comes with a very handy palm rest that nests your palm into a comfortable position. Best of all, the palm rest is adjustable, so it can suit all different hand sizes!

But, arguably the biggest addition to the Orbweaver (aside from the Mechanical switches) is the Razer Chroma lighting scheme embedded on the Razer Orbweaver. You can enjoy up to 16.8 million backlighting colors, which you can tweak according to your preferences with the Razer Synapse.

Here are the technical specifications of the Razer Orbweaver:

  • Razer Mechanical Switches with 50 g actuation force

  • Chroma backlighting with 16.8 million customizable color options
  • Programmable 8-way directional thumb-pad

  • Approximate Weight: 395 g / 0.87 lbs

Razer has been in the forefront when it comes to gaming peripherals. So, what do people have to say about the Orbweaver Chroma?

Van: “This thing is awesome. The cord is braided nylon, and it will hold up for a long time. the button presses are crisp and responsive, and it looks cool as heck. I had one of the original nostromo pads that this is replacing, and the software and hardware are a night and day difference from the original.”

Thomas: “This is a hand keyboard for gaming but can still be used for other things. It has a lot of capabilities including various color schemes. It is an awesome game keyboard. I recommend this to any gamer who does not have one. I will go one step further and say that Razor products are the best.”

With a total of 30-programmable keys, a 16.8 million color-backlighting and a nice adjustable palm rest, Razer has done it again with the Orbweaver Chroma!

The Razer Orbweaver Chroma costs $129.99.
